We had a ball!

After yesterday's long journey, today was a rest day staying with Transmanche. His wife was there to welcome us and it is always a pleasure to stay at his place in the country. They made us very comfortable although the bed was surprisingly hard. We did not fully unpack but the sideboard had a few drawers for our overnight things. I promised to fix his clock in the sitting room and then Catherine cooked us a nice meal. After dinner we had a walk in the garden and some friends joined us. I thought they introduced themselves rather formally but we put on some music and let our hair down. After yesterday's tiring journey, we thought we might complete the journey more sedately after my brother offered us his wheels.
