Tolson's Mill

Tolsons Mill is located in Fazeley on the outskirts of Tamworth. It was built in the early 1880's and stands on the Birmingham to Fazeley canal very close to it's junction with the Coventry canal. The mill specialised in woven narrow materials that were used for bindings for legal documents, corsets etc. The original owner - Sir Robert Peel is a former Prime Minister and founder of the police force - hence the name 'Bobbies'. He lived at nearly Drayton Manor, now a popular theme park.

In the far distance of this shot you can just about make out a bridge, to the left of this bridge, hidden in the trees in the primary school Lucy and Rob attended. The canal tow-path leads directly to school so I have passed this mill many hundreds of times and I can see the chimney from my house.

Ok - wakey, wakey - history lesson over :)

A quiet day for me today - just cleaning and washing. Lucy has swimming club tonight.

It's Friday folks....the wine is chilling already - have a good one x
