Snips and Snaps

Symmetry

This week's challenge is symmetry. I was hoping to get some nice reflections from the canal, but rain's stopped play and I may not have the time or the opportunity to achieve this before the end of the week. So here's one I made earlier - and no I don't have two of them, just a mirror!

This little milk/cream jug is from a tea set given to us by my father-in-law. It was a wedding present to his parents around the 1920s living in Glasgow . The cups (which will probably be the subject of another blip some time) are sometimes referred to as demitasse as they are smaller than most tea cups. The maker's stamp is Osborne China, England. With this information and a bit of googling I haven't been able to find anything else about the pattern or the whereabouts of the manufacturer, which would be of interest if anyone recognises it.

I rather like the simple design and pattern and although made in England it does have a rather Scottish feel about it in its simplicity.

I've now had time to upload some snaps and a bit of a write up of the weekend's activities in the Lake District. Do have a look here if it's of interest :)
