In My World

Snowflakes Beneath the Palm Trees

This is the closest you will ever get to seeing Snowflakes in my garden, now the weather has cooled down. The sub-tropics of Australia are not renowned for buckets of snow falling down from the heavens!

These clever shrubs spend most of the year displaying a mass of dainty little green leaves. Provide them with a day or two of cooler weather though, and without a word of warning, their tiny green leaves turn as white...as snowflakes!

This little guy was completely green just over two weeks ago. After just one cool night, no joking, he had started to turn white!

And there he will remain, under the waving palm leaves, turning whiter and whiter, as the days become cooler and cooler. :)

Note: Spent all of today feeling somewhat blah, and sneezing my head off, so stayed at home and added more photos to my website Home-Life-Online.com, as a follow up to my blip on Tuesday at Kirra Point Lookout.
