Bricolage
I spent a couple of hours in the vineyard making 30 tomato cages. It's dead simple, no tools needed.
Just take a sheet of 2.4m x 1.2m treille bricolage - don't know what it is in English - it's that metal stuff builders put in cement floors to strengthen it. You also need a pair of gloves and a short piece of copper pipe.
Curl the trellis round to make a tube then use the pipe to bend over the end wires to hold it in place.
Jam it in the ground - the prongs will hold it in place. They're pretty cheap at around 3 euros each and they last for a few years. You can easily reach through the squares to pinch out your tomatoes and they support the tomatoes well, especially in a windy vineyard potager. Whilst the tomatoes are young you can string a lattice across the inside of the cage if necessary.
I like this method of supporting tomatoes. I'm too short and feeble to create tall wooden structures that will support heavily laden plants. This way is easy-peasy. I'll blip them again when the tomatoes get bigger.
