The World In Your Arms
I perhaps need to invest in a new atlas. The time has come to accept that the USSR is not going to do a reunion gig, that Rhodesia and Tanganyika are not going through a "fad" of name-changing, and that there are more topological features to the western United States than a picture of a bloke with feathers in his hair dancing a jig. Embracing these changes isn't easy, not least because as soon as I buy a new map, someone else will go and change their country's name, or join it up with another one, and my money will have been spent for nothing.
Countries of the world: stop fucking changing things. My budget for atlas expenditure does not run to more than one every fifty years.
