Applecross Beer

The Keddster and me spent an ace night in Applecross, a place we had never heard of until my mate Kev* went there when he was over from OZ (terrible that someone has to come over from Oz to tell you where to go in your own country!).

Arrived after a lovely drive from Skye, via Plockton (now one of my favourite places in the world, it's stunning) over one of the most mental roads I have ever driven, Bealach na Ba, well worth it alone for the views of the Cullins, even if you aren't heading for Applecross.

Arrived in Applecross with the sun splitting the skies, checked in to our awesome Pod on the campsite and took a walk to the walled garden of Applecross, this was a stroke of genius, turned up and there was a BBQ with a band playing on the lawn, some fine tunes too! What else was there to do but plant ourselves on the grass, order a home made bbq'd lamb, sink a couple of Black Isle Red Kite beers, listen to the band and soak up the rays!

A walk back for some pre-dinner chill time in the Pod, then a trip down to the Applecross Inn to watch the sun set with a few more Ale's and then Inn for a truely awesome dinner! Local Oysters, Prawns, haddock and steak, polished off with a Bowmore Goldie.......perfect day!

A big Shout out to BigRed77 and of course the lovely MrsBigRed (the brains behind the operation) for recommending this place, this photo is for you! Great shout guys!

Luv
