Beverages
Last week's challenge to add two fruits or veggies to every meal went pretty good. There was a meal or two that didn't pan out but for the most part it helped me become more aware of the foods I bought and ate.
This week the challenge is to only drink water, coffee, tea or milk . . . one cup of juice is allowed for the ENTIRE week. This one will be a bit more of a challenge and - I have to admit I already screwed it up - I forgot and went to coffee with a co-worker and ordered a foofy coffee drink . . . pretty sure the sweetner/sugar in it wouldn't be allowed. Sigh.
This is a particularly good challenge as I have gotten into the habit of drinking a soda a day. I haven't been much of a soda drinker for years but recently, after the birth of AJ, I started again. Ron was bringing home diet coke's to help combat the afternoon slumps during our maternity/paternity leave from staying up around the clock with a newborn. We got in the habit of having a fridge stocked with soda and when I went back to work I began bringing a can to enjoy around 3 p.m. So, this week (and hopefully from here on out), I'll be swapping that 3 p.m. sugar rush for water, tea or coffee (plain, no sugar) - my office is fully stocked!
