A small herd of cows spend the winter in our byres. Not ours they just visit. For the past 3 or 4 weeks the calves have been arriving. They are all very cute and very shy. I've been trying to take a decent pic of one of them for ages but they either ran away or their mum's decided to chase me away (not messing with one of those girls, they're BIG mammas). Caught this one unawares, which may explain her expression.
They'll be heading out to pasture soon. It will be quiet when they've gone. But soon the dairy herds will arrive in the fields around us and they are nuts. Last year one of them decided to jump over a gate and got stuck half way. She had to be lifted of with a JCB!
