cacti

a wander through a very busy market day in Turin in the morning, followed by a nice lunch in an old fashioned restaurant (a place that was once popular amongst the working women according to S).
a trip to the Botanics in the afternoon (S's grandfather was one of it's founders). the botanics (the blip was taken in the cacti/succulent house) are beautiful, of course, but it only available to view on a tour (which was much too short) but oh well.
More ice cream followed Farina Bona from Alberto Marchetti (not with the tomato confit in this recipe, but his own website is under construction) - others tried it and said it was a bit like popcorn ice cream, but i enjoyed it!
a quick bit of gardening in the evening at Cavoretto (tidying up Forsythias and planting a rose... followed by the food wine and chat
