Suspended animation
was how the wifie on the ticket desk described the plants at the Royal Botanical Garden's outpost at Dawyck. It actually snowed on the drive down, and was very parky all day. All the plants seemed to have stopped growing during this enduring cold weather.
The author Bella Bathurst was in the cafe. I would have asked her to sign my copy of 'The Lighthouse Stevensons' if I had had it with me.
We stopped in Peebles to watch the Three Bridges running races - looked like great fun and fair too with a handicap system in force for the less athletic competitors.
Then to the sweetie shop for some sugar.
