A New Adventure...
I love Saturdays. I do feel guilty after beautiful days like today though because there has been no housebuilding done. I will try to make amends and take the boys out on Monday and let Steve do some work on the electrics.
We made it to the boys' swimming lessons only a tiny bit late, and Ben swam his little heart out and earned himself Star of the Week! Oh my gosh I was so proud of him. This week he chose a red star sticker as well, which was very out of character (normally it's blue, because he has the blue Wii controller, and likes to win.) but it's because Roary and Lightning are red. They are back in favour!
Charley also swam his little heart out. Dip after dip after dip, took it all in his stride. No spluttering, he's learning so fast! AND he did a volunteer swim: they sit in your arms, and leap in themselves with NO prompting. Their little bottoms tense up and they launch themselves into the water! Even Charley did it. Twice! Such a proud mum. It exhausted him: he fell asleep on the way to the car, slept while I took Ben round the supermarket, slept through me having a shower. THAT's how to give mummy a break!
Steve made chips for lunch. Real homemade chips. He even had to go to the shop for spuds as the ones in the cupboard had grown legs! He is good at chips. He's even better since watching Heston's how to cook potatoes! They were so good. Even Charley had one, that was fun to watch!
Ben watched a couple of movies while I blogged, and once I was done I took Charley up for a bath. Ben followed shortly after and once Charley was clean we left Ben to soak the bathroom. I'm not sure of the state of the bathroom because I took Charley off to bed and Steve got Ben out! Ben wanted to go to bed as well and so now they are both in bed fast asleep, it's only just eight o'clock, the sausage casserole that Steve's been cooking smells and tastes AMAZING (but we can't have any until tomorrow) and it's bacon sandwiches for our tea once the casserole is in the oven!
I LOVE Saturdays :D
