My what a lovely beard you have

Today all went slightly wrong but was lovely day despite it.

Initially planned a cheap day out in London, involving pack lunch and free English Heritage place to visit.

5 minutes before leaving the house we discover the place isn't open on a Saturday. No mind, off we go, sure that we will find something fun to do in London.

5 minutes before we pull into London, it starts raining.

Pack lunch huddled on a bench in the rain. However it was a bench in Regents Park which is fab and it was full of these lovely guys. This one stood out for me for his fine beard.

We opted for a quick visit to Sherlock Holmes museum, we thought T would like it as he enjoys watching the old Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes on DVD. It was fun, I'm not entirely sure it's worth the money, although did get a fun photo of the kids in a deerstalker and a pipe.

Also fitted in a quick visit to La Fromagerie, a cafe that we wanted to try. It was fab, lovely things to eat and the coffee was good, the actual cheese part of the shop was amazing and we could have spent loads, but we were very restrained.

We also didn't realise that it was FA cup day, so the area around Baker Street wasn't too pleasant, especially with 2 kids. Did manage a quick race for the train and got home quick though.

All in all a lovely day.
