Twists n Turns

One of the few things I miss about living in London is the stunning Hampstead Heath lido. I felt instantly relaxed everytime I went there. Very few things matched that giddy dread of the first plunge in to the freezing water. But after a few lengths, you quickly warm up and there is something truly magical about floating through the giant, empty pool with nothing but the sky above you. Made even more special if it started to rain.

My local pool doesn't begin to compare to the lido's greatness, but my first swim in months still felt very good.
