Yes but is it art?

A skip has appeared outside Brighton Town Hall. It's surrounded by a fence, looks cleaner than the average skip inside, and contains nothing other than a power box which obviously feeds the supply of neon lighting around it. Lots of people, me included, were peering into it curiously.

This is what I mean about the Brighton Festival. Perhaps it's an installation? Or the setting for a piece of performance art?

It reminds me of the time a whole load of wooden planks got washed up along the south coast from a wrecked cargo ship. In sensible Worthing, people gathered up the planks and stacked them up ready for salvage. In Brighton, half of them got spirited away by enterprising white van men. The rest got turned into wooden houses, giant Jenga games and assorted beach sculptures.

So maybe it is just a skip. But think of the possibilities....!
