...I haven't seen any evidence of babies, so I'm hoping that this is not unpleasant evidence of thievery?

I never touch anything when I'm on the lookout for images, so this was exactly how it was found. If I knew how to combine two or three images I would have given you other perspectives too. The little shell is pierced well and truly by the unforgiving twig.

(The ants are still busy on the tree, by the way, even in the downpour! I guess it must be 'milking' season?).

I've spent a happy hour researching fragrances (for a gift). One knows one's favourites (and the favourites of nearest and dearest) but it's amazing how much more there is to learn when you look. I'm even quite fired up to try something new!
