Willing Wasp
See it as a BIG WASP.
Today's been lovely, sunny and warm apart from a bit of a breeze - wonder how long it'll last, haha .....
I went back to the front of County Hall on a Shield-bug hunt lunchtime, but despite my best eagle-eyed efforts, saw none. At least in know they're about, so I haven't' given up yet!
For a while I stood with the sun beaming down on me, in the middle of a huge area of Dandelions with insects of all sorts on the flowers and zooming around in the air. It was gorgeous - I could've quite happily spent the rest of the afternoon there but I doubt my bosses would have been too impressed by that idea.
When I sorted through my potential blips back in the office I narrowed it down to two - this wasp on a leaf and a Bumble-bee seemingly clinging onto the edge of a Dandelion - and was torn between them. I finally decided on this wasp, as I blipped a honey bee on a Dandelion only yesterday, and I also felt the definition of this wasp shot was the better of the two . Plus there's lots of bee on Dandelion blips at present, so I tought it would make a nice change for the wasp to get a look in, as it had been fairly tolerant of me (I'm convinced they ususally have a vendetta against the human race, the way they often seem to head straight for you in the garden, lol).
Here's the BUMBLE BEE for any bee lovers out there.
