The moon, brighter on this night;
Mocking her bright dreams of the future
That cast a shadow in this white light
Closer to the dream with every inhale
But shallow breath haunts her tonight
For the moon feels her warm exhale
And laughs because the terror in her eyes
is quite a sight
The face in the sky forever haunts
When she can't run fast as she wants
For her mind runs wildest under stars
And stays calm when rays of sunshine
Warm her oldest scars
So she waits for the clock to strike
midnight once more
Gazing at bright but soft spoken stars
Longing for the sound of waves on the shore
All the while attempting to lose not
Her passion for dreaming that some forgot
