Wood textures

We've made a definite difference with our log chopping. Much of it splits fairly easily. But I like some of the patterns and textures that appear. At first I was concentrating on this log with a knot but several pieces have a strange bluish, sometimes greenish, colour and I ended up putting one of these in the frame as well. No idea where the blue comes from but it's definitely part of the wood as it often shows in newly split wood. And also it splits with a lot of "ridges and valleys" which is hard to understand. Still a long way to go.
