Blue and yellow
All change today. Yes there were both sunshine and showers but the former definitely won the day and the few showers that were around seemed to skirt the hills as I walked. The wind was still incredibly cold, however, and definitely left its imprint on the day.
This afternoon I went into town for some last minute holiday shopping and to fill the car with petrol, as I am driving down to Reading first thing on Saturday with Bruce. My daughter and family are going to look after him while I am away and the three little boys are apparently very excited, so I hope Bruce shares at least a little of that enthusiasm when he realises what is happening. Life will be very different for him in the next fortnight and I am hoping he will look forward to returning with me for some peace and quiet.
As I returned home I was admiring the deep blue colour of the hills etched against the evening sky and then I came over the brow of a hill and saw the field of oilseed rape acting as a superb foil in the foreground. I stopped the car and captured my blip. I just adore seeing the hills up here looking so blue and while I have cropped this very slightly, the colours are true. I was tempted to put "Rape" as my title but then was afraid it might be censored before it took off!
