My life, my lens

Poster girl - me!

We had a late start today as we are both still suffering from jet-jag. After a quick lunch we took a cab to English Bay to start our walk around Stanley Park.

'Stanley Park is one of Vancouver's main tourist destinations, attracting approximately 8 million visitors each year. It featuring numerous lovely beaches, miles of well-maintained paved and dirt trails and roughly 500,000 cedar, fir and hemlock trees and covers over 1,000-acres.'

It has been overcast and has rained for most of the day. The walk we did follows the sea wall and the views are great across the bay to North Vancouver. We walked for about 8k before heading into the park to look at the lakes and formal gardens.

The rain was starting to get heavier so we walked back into the city. It was by pure chance that we walked past the Skydive Vancouver office where I did a skydive the last time I was in Vancouver over five years ago. I was telling Matt about it while looking at the window when I realised it was my face on the poster! My face was literally all over the shop. I popped in to say hi and they also told me that in the town (Abbotsford) where the airstrip is there is a huge poster board advertising the centre with my face on it. It was all very surreal but made my day and brought back lots of happy memories!
