Bernie

Katie loves our rabbits. A very very lot. Really is smitten with them. She sobbed last night when I brought her in from seeing them. She didnt want to get dressed this morning. Until I suggested she could go feed the rabbits. A huge relief though is that the rabbits love her. The black rabbit, Bert, actually stretches up to her when she reaches towards him to give him a kiss. The white rabbit, Ernie, is more timid, but sits there patiently whilst she kisses. Collectively, she calls the rabbits Bernie.

Not long after naming the rabbits yesterday, who I was given on the promise that they were the same gender, my condition of taking them, I was informed that "oops, we forgot to tell you that we sexed them again and think you've got one of each". We dont know which is which variety at the moment, but shall be having it investigated!

Anyway, they are a huge success with Katie, they seem to be enjoying their new home and have ventured beyond their house to explore the garden a little. Bert more than Ernie. Ernie is definitely less confident than Bert. He may have bright red eyes, but he's so soft and docile that they dont give him any hint of creepy. We are very glad that they have come to join our little family.

After nursery, Granny and Grandad came for tea and of course Katie immediately wanted to introduce them to the rabbits. Her and Grandad spent a good long time cuddling them both in turn, and Katie kissing them. She showed them our new white bike, and wasnt over impressed when it was time to sit down for tea. After tea, we had a play and such, about to enjoy a cup of tea and some cake. At which point, Katie remembered our new meitai and decided that she wanted to show Granny and Grandad how that worked. She wanted to give a full demonstration, including taking them out for a walk at what was already bedtime!
