Waiting for the tide - again

Decided to leave early from Bradwell after the weekend sailing - see A's Blips.
The forecast was for strengthening SE winds going east and rain at 1 o'clock.
Ran back up river with the tide under her and the jib alone, supplemented from time to time by the iron tops'l.
Arrived about an hour before I could get on my moorings so snugged the boat down on someone else's mooring buoy until mine had water enough to pick it up.
I calculate that when the depth sounder reads 1.8m I should be good to go.
Will I beat the rain?
