Let's paint :)
Today was painting day! I had good intentions of getting up early and chilling on the hammocks before heading to the school but I ended up snoozing too much. I still had time for breakfast though and a few cups of the free coffee.
I arrived at the school at 9.30am and everyone had started painting. One of the older pupils had turned up to help which I thought was pretty cute. We painted until 2pm. Sarah and I were working in one of the classrooms and got the whole room finished which was pretty good going considering we were painting with chalk and water and not proper paint. Oscar and Jason did the outside a lovely bright yellow and the whole building looks so much better now compared to the dull grey brick it was before.
It was so humid and warm in the school that we were all soaked by the end of the day and decided to get a nice cool taxi back into town. Sarah and I bought a meat stick off the street vendors which was really cheap and really yummy and then I headed back to my hostel to spend the rest of the day in the pool chilling.
Later I went to the supermarket which was quite a fail. Mainly because it was meant to be a nice chilled icecream trip for the most amazing chocolate brownie icrecream ever but I ended up buying 5 litres of water which in the end I strugged to carry. Just as I was walking down the path outside the supermarket the carrier bag ripped, the bag of water fell through and burst. Some kind Colombian picked my stuff up for me but the water was now even harder to carry because it had a hole. This, along with my leaky orange juice, other purchases and lack of carrier bags made the short journey from the supermarket to the hostel very crappy!
I ordered a caesar salad when I got back and it was really tasty. Then I chilled in a hammock to make up for my stressful trip and ended up falling asleep far too early for a Saturday night!
