Java & Jazz
We were given tickets to this evening's "Java & Jazz" at the Fender Guitar Museum here in our community. We had never been to a gig there and it had been years since we had been inside the building.
So we were delightfully pleased -- the evening was so much fun. Dr. Jeff Mooney on the far right leads this group of mostly college students. He is a professor at California Baptist University in Riverside, the community just to the east of us.
We were not sure what kind of music to expect and were pleased and surprised when they revealed at the very "get go" with the first song that the evening was going to rock. They performed many songs from a variety of secular genres. Jeff's bachelor degree is in Jazz History from Auburn University in his home state of Alabama and it was quite obvious that he loves all types of music.

Most of the afternoon we were at Kaiser Medical Center in Riverside because I have been having a back ache that just won't go away. It is an ache that does not feel muscular; I honestly don't think I've pulled a muscle or injured myself. So I was concerned about liver, pancreas, or I'm not sure. I've heard people who've had liver or pancreatic cancer say that it began with a back ache. So "red flags" were happening for me. So the doctor order blood testing and I'll get results next week, but doctor assured me that he thinks it is a pinched nerve. I'm sure he is right.
Mr. Fun also saw a doctor for help with his left knee that he twisted a couple weeks ago. Hopefully the swelling and soreness will now begin to decrease. The doctor told him the best remedy is exercise, which is not exactly what he wants to do with the current pain.
It's been a good Friday. Good night from Southern California.
