Progress - about 1/3 done

Managed to get a bit more done to the painting today after a few days of no work because of my husband's medical emergency. I'm about one third of the way through this one, it's quite a challenge. Normally I always work from the top left hand corner down to about the middle and then move across so I've completed the top half before moving down to the bottom of the painting. I think this routine for me has come about because of my experience with pastel drawings in the past. You quickly learn that you need to do the top first or you "smudge" the completed bottom of the drawing when you tackle the top. However on this painting it has seemed more logical to complete from top to bottom. I know why I've done this......it's cowardice........as the central top bit is two shelves full of brass coffee pots and is so complicated that I've put it off!! I've decided to leave the top middle till last! then maybe it will "fall into place".

Update on my husband's reattached retina, he has managed to see more light today and the black disc he could "see" yesterday seems to be disappearing which must be a good sign!
