Interesting day!

A dolly mixture day. Today my TV licence arrived in the post and it happily proclaimed "This is the last paper licence you'll receive until 2016. Hooraaay I thought, until I read it properly. What they meant was as the TV licrnce fee has been fixed at £145.50 a year until 2016 and as I pay by Direct Debit, then this toilet roll length of paper will have to do me! Well how do they know I still want to watch their garbage TV programmes untill 2016 ! What if I get run over by a West Coast Motor bus? What if I lose the bloody piece of paper? so many what ifs!AND in future they want to send me an email rather than a bit of paper to confirm my licence every year! Have these nutters lost the plot? What about folks that dont have a computer and the old and decrepit like myself!

In the afternoon I went down to the last remaining bookshop between here and Glasgow and asked if they had book by a chap called Colin Murray , called After a Dead Dog that I had ordered the other day. "No" says the lady as the book is out of print and cannot be got. Bugger I thought and left muttering to myself. Then when I was out with the doggies at their favourite place of worship, (see above picture) my voicemail ent. On it was a message from ....Colin Murray saying he had been told of my plight about his book and if I left a fiver in the bookshop he would drop of a signed copy for me!! How swell is that? When I went back to the bookshop , the lady there said she saw him pass the shop (think he lives in Kintyre) and told him I was looking for the book and that was his solution, cool?
Success all round, I will get my book and the doggies got to visit their sacred shrine and while I was there another lady came by with her two dogs and they did the same thinkg, made a beeline for the well and peered into its depths. I love that place too.

Happy blipping all
