So humid!
Today I didn't get up when my alarm rang and so was a little late in leaving for the school. Today was the first morning going by myself and cause I was late I decided to go by taxi. It dropped me off at the monteverde shop, where we usually get the bus home. I asked the driver where the school was and he matter of factly pointed and said 'over there' so I thought it couldn't be too hard to find. I was wrong.
I ended up walking around for a good 20 minutes asking several people for directions and pretty much walking in circles. Finally, just as I was about to give up and head back to the hostel (although it seemed that it would have been just as hard to find a main road as to find the school) I spotted one of the past students of the school Jesus who now helps out and he was heading there and was able to take me.
The rest of the day passed pretty quickly since I arrived quite late. We taught the class another letter, had merienda and cut out and coloured in butterflies to decorate the school. It was a good day apart from the sickly heat. Literally everyone was drenched in sweat. I had to go during the break to buy myself water and juice! And they come in these little cute packets over here :) One of the volunteers Jason left early after someone pointing out the wet patches on his shorts which he thought was due to one of the kids having a toilet accident on him. But Sarah and I think it was most likely sweat after someone sitting on his knee. It was literally so so warm!
We headed into town after class for some lunch and Sarah had me on a wild goose chase trying to find a nice stall with Colombian street food. I have never seen someone on such a mission. After power walking around for 15 minutes or so we found a nice little spot and had some juice, soup and chicken for just a couple of pounds.
Then it was onto La Brisa Loca for a meeting for the foundation. My tiredness really hit during the meeting and so I decided to give the sports at the other school a miss. I headed back to my hostel around 2 and went straight for the pool for my first time. I chilled there reading my kindle (also for the first time) and finished a book. Afterwards I sorted out all my stuff as my section of the room has become quite a mess. Then I made a tasty dinner and had a beer with some people from the hostel. The rest of the evening was pretty chilled and I spent a good part of it on the hammocks...obviously. Now it's not even 11 and I'm thinking of going to bed to avoid oversleeping tomorrow, hasta mañana!
