Pre-op
My husband had his op to re-attach the retina in his right eye today. A worryingly long day for me (he's slept through most of it and is sleeping soundly now). Just pray that it will be successful. We return tomorrow to the hospital for a check up. He had been suffering from some visual problems for several weeks. He said it looked like he was looking through a net curtain, but had been attending the eye clinic regularly and it was improving, then suddenly on Sunday he lost his vision in that eye. A rush visit to the eye hospital confirmed that he had a detached retina. Hopefully the result of today's surgery will be a full restoration of his sight.
Take heed everybody if you notice something wrong with your sight go straight away to a doctor. After a few days it is impossible to re-attach the retina, so speed is of the essence, and our sight is so precious, after all we wouldn't be able to enjoy everyone's wonderful blips without it!
