Gently down the stream

Cytisus scoparius 'White Lion'

I bought 2 of these brooms as standards for my garden last year and now, for the first time, they're in flower.

Tiny and jittery in the wind, they're frothing and foaming and smelling lovely, but what really interests me is their structure: complex, architectural, intricately designed, with rolls of petal in the middle, those short pink lines (to draw the insects in, I guess) and that translucent hoodie - keeping said insect bums from sunburn?

So that's me for today. Lunch bolted, I reckon I better go do something with my time that's less entirely delightful but more lucrative
(Hmm, it's called work!)
Happy days
