Raspberry Beret
The devil makes work for idle hands
Well my hands have been fairly idle today as I continue the battle to beat the flu.
However if you find yourself looking at my blip, you'll be thinking to yourselves 'he's obviously still feverish', 'he's lost the plot', 'he's gone radio rental' and other such phrases.
My psychiatrist assures me, I haven't. ;)
Which came first?
The blip?
Or
The blurb?
It depends, sometimes the image is smack right in front of me and so I'll spend a while thinking just what to say.
And other times, a song pops into my head and I'll plan how I'm going to visualise it.
Well this evening I saw the raspberries out of the corner of my eye and that was enough to set the wheels in motion.
A friend and myself travelled to London a few years ago, to see Prince while he was doing his 21 Nights at The O2.
I'd already been to the city a couple of times but this was Gordons first trip, so rather than spend time in a pub (as he might've preferred) I thought I'd give him the guided tour.
Well, whilst walking past the Mayor of Londons office, there was a minor commotion outside by an oversized guitar which was fenced off. My natural curiosity I'm a nosey bugger got the better of me, so I asked a security man, who was on duty, what was going on?
"Hang around and you'll find out", said he, so we did and 5 minutes later Sir Paul McCartney came down for a photo shoot beside the large guitar and with the artist who'd designed it.
It was a great moment pre-blip and we took lots of photos. There were perhaps only 30-40 people there but it was very calm and civilised.
I didn't ask for his autograph, I was happy taking pics, though I would've liked a photo of the three of us.
Later that evening...
Prince didn't disappoint when we saw him, he put on a spectacular show!
And yes, he sang Raspberry Beret.
