Singapore Slingbacks....
.....the now customary excellent breakfast followed by a swim, and resting on the sun loungers around the roof-top pool.
After a brush with unusual transport inefficiency (usually there is a sensible system), we were on our way on tourist travel passes - unlimited travel around the city (above and below ground) for £8 each for two days.
Singapore Slings next (using delicious Martin Miller gin) in the home of the world famous cocktail....the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel, followed by a trip to the amazing Sky Park in Marina Bay. The views were just stunning and so were the drinks prices (to be expected). Bumped into a couple from Perth, WA at the bar who are transiting through Singapore en route from Vietnam. They told me enough that I want to go there soon.
Finished our day with a rustic cafe meal in Little India (it's just like Mumbai)....my curried mutton, puri, fried chicken and pickles with a large Kingfisher beer for £3.50 was just amazing value. Lip tingling heat and complex flavours.
Now back at the hotel nursing sare feat. Great day in the Fine City.
