Chilli Crab Breath......
......jeezy peeps, our chilli crab noodles were radioactive tonight, I was gulping Bundy Red and Coke like it was water; not a smart idea. A day of humidity and high temperatures - you sweat the fluid almost as soon as you drink it...nice.
Earlier we enjoyed the best hotel breakfast I've ever shoved into my laughing gear. A wide variety of fresh choices from Japan, SE Asia, India, European Continental, Antipodean and British breakfast favourites. I had a Japanese, Indian and British breaky fusion of teriyaki chicken, aloo sabji with chickpea fritters, and bacon butty. Eclectic but delicious. Owen loved the juicing machine; apple, melon, carrot and orange.
Thence to the hotel roof-top swimming pool with Nancy and Stig for some sunshine & water frolics, then steam room and whirlpool.
Thence, thence to Singapore Zoo on the MRT (metro) and 138 bus via the biggest shopping centre/come metro station (eight huge floors of shopping) for the night safari....such a good time to visit a zoo, most of the animals come alive at night. My favourites were the Indian Crocs.....watching us a couple of feet below the bridge, willing us to fall-in to their pool.
Observations thus far......food is tasty and cheap and general prices are comparable with the UK for everything except booz. Generally, it's a melting pot of imperial historical influences with Indian, Malay, British and Chinese cultural references everywhere; we even briefly stumbled into Marks and Spencer this afternoon. Oh...they can't make a flat white to save themselves, not even the local Starbucks branch. I sense a business opportunity Rosco.
