Green Wall

Back blip: I had lunch with a friend at the Drexel U campus and we made a short-cut through this lobby, in a brand-new building. Its "green wall" of living plants seems to me a new take on the oldest thing in architecture. All walls in a climate like this will be colonized by vines if not tended otherwise, but then the wall becomes the soil and is often damaged by the roots.

Green walls and rooftops are appealing, but I must say that I've had little experience with this kind, intended by the architect, but with vine-covered walls, I've done more than my share of grunt work.
