Royal Windsor
Today we were up bright and early for a trip to Royal Windsor. We arrived just in time for the changing of the guard which takes a surprisingly long time. The weather was glorious in fact my face is feeling quite warm still from standing watching the ceremony.
It's been years since I visited in fact before the fire damage and it's nice to see how sympathetically it's been restored. It's amazing how you can visit places and still learn something each time you visit which being a big history (particularly british history and the monarchy) fan is always a plus. This year they are offering a years pass with each ticket purchased so for £17 you can go as many times as you like for the year. Bargain!!!
One thing I did notice it the amount of air traffic noise the Queen has to deal with being so close to the Heathrow flight pass. Here in this shot is St Georges Chapel and glimpse of the round tower and oh yes one of the many planes flying over.
