Various local names for this bridge (over the River Ness, in Inveress) include: the Black Bridge (yes, I know it's grey... now); the Grant Street bridge; and the Waterloo bridge. I've never heard anyone use the later name, but that's the "official" name on a plaque. Slightly better view than the earlier Blip-of-desperation from the opposite bank.
It was close to high tide, and the river has backed-up here (and a fair bit further upstream), hence the higher level.
