CUBA DAY 4: The Beach!
Another cloudless blue sky greeted us this morning. Time to finally get to a beach! The shuttle bus took over an hour, but it was totally worth it....the beach was spectacular! Just your classic cerulean skies, aqua blue water and golden sand! We walked for sometime to get to a quieter spot and found a wonderful place, under a thatched umbrella and settled in! Heaven on earth, the water was warm and clear - and i was in and out a few times. Lunch was an interesting endeavor! Neither of us speak Spanish in any decent sense of the word...so it was difficult to understand how it worked! Finally, we got it...you sat on the patio, ordered the food, a guy went up the hill about 5 minutes, placed your order at the cooking facility and then about 15 minutes later it was brought to us. I wasn't fully prepared for a whole fish, head tail and all...but it was so beautiful...a wonderful turquoise head and pink and blue tail!!! Too wild, and it tasted fresh and good!
Back to the hotel in the afternoon! The main drawback with using the shuttle was the time constraint, but again all stuff to consider for our next trip there!
Overnight we had an amazing thunder and lighting show....and also a pretty wild dancing girls show!!! Terry was mesmerized by these scantily clad, very flexible young women...so was i actually...and the look on his face when, at the end of their performance, the girls grabbed some of us from the audience to dance with them! It was pretty hysterical to see Terry, who is a self proclaimed Non-Dancer....being moved around the floor by this beautiful young woman!
