We Will Never Forget..........
This is an update to yesterday's blipfoto.
As promised, I replaced the faded flower with a beautiful red rose. I chose a red rose because not only does it signify love, it also signifies respect, courage and passion. The bronze equestrian statue is the regimental memorial of the Royal Scots Greys who left Edinburgh in 1899 to fight in the South African Boer War. The sculptor was Edinburgh born William Birnie Rhind. The statue is situated to the west of Princes Street Gardens opposite Frederick Street. It's a magnificently handsome statue and does the regiment proud.
Whilst I was replacing the flower, a busker was playing "Moon River" on the violin. I can't begin to tell you how touching that was.
We should never forget..................
