Easter Monday

We headed off to Xscape to try to have lunch at TGI Fridays, but didn't realise the bank holiday traffic would be so bad around that area. And Xscape itself was mobbed, so we gave up that idea as it was too long to wait on a table and time is precious these days! Much to H's delight, we ended up having a bite to eat at McDonalds, where she ate a reasonable amount of her lunch - all the more surprising as she said she just wanted ice-cream! As a reward, the 3 of us shared a Creme Egg McFlurry. H made herself a little boyfriend whilst we were there too - they sat waving chips and smiling at each other for the entire duration.
After McDs, we popped into Ikea to see H's Papa who was working there (this surprise visit was the main reason for attempting lunch at Xscape etc). H was delighted to see him making balloons for all the children, and managed to queue patiently with the rest of them, requesting a balloon rabbit when it was her turn.
She wasn't keen on using the big toilets at Ikea, but I eventually convinced her to go on the Potette (portable potty) which she did. Day 4 and no accidents again! I am very proud of my big girl :-)

H and hubby went for a nap when we got home and I made a cottage pie for dinner. Afterwards, we did the Easter egg hunt which we missed yesterday. H loved it - far more than I thought she would! She managed to find all 8 of the chocolate eggs which I had hidden around the living room, kitchen and utility room, and loved putting them in her basket. She was allowed to eat one before bedtime. I can see us re-hiding the remaining eggs several times over as she had so much fun.
