Quiet Love
Happy Easter!
Today was so busy but so much fun. We had a lot of people over today to help us celebrate Rhi's 24th birthday a day early, as she's off to London with Mark tomorrow.
At dinner thirteen of us squeezed around the table, some sitting on the proper chairs, perched on stools and one on an wheelie office chair.
This is going to sound disgustingly sentimental, but as I was drifting off to sleep once the party had wound down and the clean-up was complete, I was thinking about how, all day, everyone had been showing their love for each other in little ways.
Like Rhi, holding Mark's hand under the table as he underwent the daunting task of meeting the extended family. Or Mum and Dad, hugging in the back garden when we were all out the front hunting eggs. Nathan, running up to me with a beaming smile and saying "You're a silly billy!". Or Dave, helping his big sister out by carving the meat. Even my Nana, as she walked out the door saying "Well, I'm off, but you know where to find me."
Small gestures, loaded with affection, all gathered in one room.
