An early blip

Couldn't really be any other shot today! A tiring but great day visiting the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum in London. This game was in the basement of the Science Museum in a section devoted to old household appliances. A great interactive place for the kids to learn how life used to be (though sadly you couldn't play with this game).

I decided not to trim the ZX80 off the side of the shot in case it brought back happy memories for any blippers out there. We (ok, my brother) started with the ZX81 in black, with a 16k ram pack. With that extra 16k, we were the envy of the valley! Hard to imagine how computers will have changed in another 25/30 years...

I'd never been to the Natural History Museum before (shameful, I know - I lived in London for years) and was pretty impressed by the big dinosaur in the main hall. The kids, despite loving everything to do with dinosaurs, were distinctly underwhelmed. They just wanted to head straight to the moving life-sized T-Rex model, although when we go there Conor was just too frightened to hang around for long (well, it was pretty lifelike).

We're very lucky to have these great museums - and all free too. In other countries we've found ourselves havering over whether it's worth the admission price to take the kids into museums in case they don't get much out of it.

After the mayhem of the museums, a long, long journey home - made longer by a landslip north of Berwick and a couple of Geordie blokes singing songs about Mike Ashley.
