Anthony's Birthday

May I introduce my son Anthony Pierre. Its his 22nd birthday and the whole family went out for dinner to celebrate.

Anthony is my middle baby and the biggest one when born.....9 pds. Honestly he was the cutest baby ever and had this remarkable smile that would melt your heart. He still does but you wouldn't know that because he hates to smile when taking pictures. He has this hard look but when you meet him he's such a teddy bear and you fall in love with him. His heart.....a major heart of gold.

During the teenage years he definitely gave me a bunch of grey hairs but the love between us overshadowed the hard times. Being a parent I wanted to protect him and keep negative influences faraway however I noticed something different about him. His compassion for people was at a different level. Questionable characters did not scare him, instead he would befriend them and lend a helping hand by giving them clothes and food. I struggled with this because I wanted and did protect him but at the same I didn't want to kill his spirit or take away the gift God gave him.

So glad those days are over. He's still the same but older, stronger and wiser so I as his mother can relax a bit. Now he's 22 and has so much going for him. He works in construction which fits him perfectly because he loves working with his hands. He also has a wonderful girlfriend. Lastly he's saving up to get a tattoo of his grandmother (my mom) whom he loved dearly. You should have seen Grandma Ofelia's eye light up when Anthony would walk into the room.
