Strike a Pose!

In a quiet corner near the entrance of Canberra Airport, a thing of beauty had appeared overnight, a huge bronze figure of a crouched woman with her arm thrust triumphantly skywards.

Perception and Reality 1, Australia's largest cast bronze figurative sculpture that was unveiled infront of Canberra Airport was driven up to Canberra by a truck from Melbourne. The 7.5 metre, 3.8 tonne bronze work was done by Australian sculptor Andrew Rogers.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this naked woman infront of the airport the other day. She definitely stopped me in my tracks and I noticed the other business suited men and women that seemed to always be in a hurry to get to somewhere did take a couple of minutes to look up in admiration and wonder. I guess a naked woman, even if it's a sculpture will always succeed in doing that to people. Lol.
