Longhua Temple
We were lucky to visit the Longhua Temple - the largest and oldest in the city - on the day of the annual temple fair. The fair coincides with the blossoming of the nearby peach trees and has taken place virtually every year since it was started in the Ming dynasty.

In the afternoon we went to the Propaganda Poster Museum in the French Concession district - a fascinating collection of revoluitonary poster artwork, unique in the world because after the cultural revolution ended Deng Xiao Ping ordered the stoppage and destruction of all propoaganda material in 1979. The few surviving posters are mostly held in this small museum on the third floor of a nondescript housing block. No photos allowed unfortunately but I'll put up some postcards at a later stage.
