St Mary Magdalene tower

This church tower in the centre of Taunton can be seen from miles around. It is 50 metres high and, like many church towers in Somerset, was built in the 'perpendicular' style with a great deal of fine detail. The church tower was rebuilt in replica in the mid-19th century by the prolific British architects Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and Benjamin Ferrey.
