A "Painted" Deer

I hate to admit it...but...after I dropped my doctor off at his office...I headed for home feeling a little sorry for myself. Not terribly, but just a tinge of sadness.

The tiny problem is...after all the picture choices I had on vacation...now...I'm grasping for straws.

I pulled down one of my favorite pond-filled streets. My camera was ready. Ready on the seat, but not turned on. A good-sized dog ran in front of me. "IT'S NOT A DOG...DONNY DOWNER!! IT'S A DEER!"

No time for settings. No time for focus. I was lucky it was 57 degrees out. My window was down. 3 shots. Let me tell ya...she was on the go-go-go to get to her doe-doe-doe place.

So...the question becomes...what can you do with a not-so-good picture? I hated to waste it, so I put it into photoshop, and turned it into a painting. Her tail was wide, white, and wonderful.

After the whitetail crossed, I saw a big white bird. It was a giant egret...scarce in these parts. I got 6 shots of her.

I'm waiting for all my waterbirds to return. I can't depend on darting deer.
