Time stands still

Our hamlet consists of 14 properties (and even then I think 5 of those could be in a different one). Today I visited another occupant of the hamlet (a hamleter?); she was next door checking on the house (it's empty/up for sale).
The greenhouse was jampacked full of rosebay willowherb seeds, the plant (weed) having grown, flowered and set seed during the summer. It was quite an eery sight as, apart from the seeds themselves, trapped in the fluffy mass were the long-dead bodies of insects (earwigs, spiders etc). It was also very beautiful though - the seed cases, which had burst open to spill their contents, were made of a pearlised pink material which sparkled in the sunlight that had appeared just then.
Difficult to capture the stillness in digital format but the overall impression was of time standing still, waiting for the chance to escape and blow away on the breeze.
I shut the door as gently as I had opened it.
