Grey bird on a Grey Day

Woke up to the sound of rain on the window pane and the temperature has plummeted from our balmy summer weather of last week! Met up with Cailean and the boys and we had a quick picnic outside at Merkinch Nature Reserve and then we were all glad to walk briskly to warm ourselves up!

I was just explaining to Sutherland about how careful we had to be when crossing the railway line when we heard a train approach! Luckily we were behind the gate as it whizzed past. I guess that was the best lesson on why we have to be careful when following this path across the line.

We saw this heron fishing on the shore and it's grey feathers kind of sums up the day!
