April Fool!

We couldn't believe it when we opened the blinds this morning.

Miss Annie couldn't believe it either. There had been no mention of snow in the higher elevations on the weather report last night.

A few hours later, all the white stuff was gone and we were welcoming the first hummingbirds of 2012 to our feeders (one of which you see here, snow-covered, in the background). The sun played peek-a-boo amongst a variety of clouds, some of which were lovely billowing cumulonimbus.

I noticed on my perpetual calendar, where I keep track of birthdays, anniversaries, and various other miscellaneous facts, that we had snow on April 11 last year. We're not out of the proverbial woods yet, but we're headed in the right direction.

(The colorful hanging frog was a Christmas present from our grandson. It hangs on the sliding door to the deck, helping ward off birds and prevent humans from walking into the door.)
