Yesterday, in the morning's sun, the creamy magnolia blossoms were just opening. Time constraints meant I did not get back in time to take a photo. Well there is always tomorrow.......

The heavy overnight frost froze the buds and petals, and they are now brown and limp looking. I have lost my chance. Well there is always next year.....

For several days now there have been fires on the hills - presumably because the vegetation is so dry. I imagine the forecast snow will cool it down!
